A North Carolina manufacturer of fabrics for awnings, upholstery, marine vessels, and other purposes intends to create more than 200 new employment in the state.
Glen Raven’s Custom Fabrics subsidiary announced it would invest up to $82 million to develop its Norlina plant, which manufactures synthetic yarn used in the company’s performance fabrics. The corporation intends to remodel the current facilities as well as construct new buildings and equipment.
Glen Raven Textiles, founded more than 140 years ago, is set to open a new manufacturing facility in Warren County, North Carolina. The company is slated to receive a $1 million state grant, if it meets its hiring and investment goals. Local governments have approved an incentive package that would offset 60% of the company’s tax liability over 10 years.
