ITME Africa 2023 Pioneering Self-Reliance & Economic Progress in Africa with Textile Tech & Engineering

India ITME Society, the organizer of ITME Africa & Middle East 2023, held a Preview & Curtain Raiser program on October 11, 2023, at the newly established ITME Center in Nariman Point, Mumbai. The event aimed to provide a glimpse of the upcoming international exhibition, scheduled to take place in Nairobi, Kenya, from November 30 to December 2, 2023. This program was the second in a series of events hosted for a global audience, with the first event being held in Nairobi, Kenya, on October 3.

Curtain Raiser Highlights and Topics

Eminent dignitaries and speakers presented several highlights and topics during the Curtain Raiser & Preview event in Mumbai. Mr Updeep Singh, an industry expert and experienced textile professional, discussed the strength of the Indian textile industry and how Africa can collaborate with India to lead the industry. Mr. Balvinder Singh Sawhney, the Assistant Secretary General of FICCI, highlighted Africa as a land of opportunities for India and emphasized how exhibitions can serve as a gateway for bilateral trade promotion in the textile industry. Mr Pramod Khosla, the Chairman & Managing Director of Khosla Profil Pvt. Ltd., shared insights on technical textiles and their future. Mr Avinash Mayekar, the Managing Director of Suvin, spoke about the increase in business engagement between India and Africa in the textile segment since 2020.

ITME Africa & Middle East 2023 promises to offer a unique and valuable experience for all participants. The technical and technological seminar will focus on various aspects of the textile industry, including cultivating quality cotton fibre, the importance of the physical properties of cotton, technological advancements in cotton ginning, and best practices for spinning profits.

A panel discussion on “Textile Technology Empowering the Complete Textile Value Chain of the African Continent and the Middle East” will be held, with participating countries including India, Italy, China, and Switzerland.

Support and Collaboration

Many government organizations and associations from Kenya have collaborated with the India ITME Society to host this textile technology and engineering event. The aim is to bring prosperity to the entire African continent and explore the potential of Kenya as a new business destination. The event will feature participation from 23 exhibiting countries, including Austria, China, Germany, Italy, Nigeria, Rwanda, Spain, the United States, and India.
