Eminent Speakers at Denim Talks to Discuss ‘Circularity’

The country’s largest event on denim industry – the Denim Show – held alongside Gartex Texprocess India, will see the coming together of some of the most reputed personalities in the industry for a series of discussions at the conference ‘Denim Talks’.

Addressing the needs of the garment and apparel manufacturing supply chain, Gartex Texprocess India – India’s fastest growing show –is all set to unravel latest innovations in its upcoming fourth edition. Like last year, Denim Show is going to be one of the key attractions at Gartex with the entire denim fraternity converging here to network, showcase latest technologies and set future trends.

As part of the Denim Show, the organisers have incorporated a detailed conference under the name ‘Denim Talks’ with the theme‘Denim Industry In Line With Circular Fashion’ with an aim to draw attention towards the need for being environmentally-conscious in this ever-expanding industry.The technological advancements in this industry should be sustainable, and keeping this in mind, the theme for current edition has been chosen so as to enable stakeholders highlight the importance of this often neglected aspect. The goal of this conference is to bring to the fore the concept of sustainability, circular fashion and slow fashion. It is essential in order to make the Indian denim industry globally competitive and in sync with the best practices from around the world. Thus, Denim Talks shall serve as a high level forum bringing together the industry leaders, best minds and international experts to share insights, experiences and global perspectives through a wealth of presentations, case studies and interactive sessions.

The conference is targeted at and will see participation from denim mills, garment/apparel brands, designers, denim garment machinery, finishing and washing technology players, fabric sourcing teams, vendors and supply chain partners, dyes and chemicals players, export houses, buying houses, merchandisers, amongst several others.

The conference will see some eminent personalities from the denim industry speaking on wide-ranging topics. Those gracing the podium with their insights include Arvind Mathur, CEO, Raymond UCO Denim Pvt. Ltd; Manish Kapoor, Chief Business Officer, Pepe Jeans London; Sumit Shah, Co-Founder, Director- Operations & BOHECO Textile, Bombay Hemp Co. Pvt. Ltd; Kriti Tula, Co-Founder & Creative Director, Doodlage; and Turbaashu Bhattacharya, Business Head, RoserveEnviro Pvt. Ltd.

Denim Talks will be held on the last day of the three-day event i.e. on August 12, 2019 from 9.30 am to 5.00 pm, and will be divided into four sessions, each dedicatedto a different topic for the enlightenment of the audience. The inaugural session will see speakers giving an overview of the Indian denim industry, and discussing opportunities, key challenges and investment in this segment. The remaining three sessions will stress on subjects such as ‘Circularity & Sustainability in Denim’, ‘Designing Denims’ and ‘Processing, Automation and Technology in Denim’. The conference will be an asset for various stakeholders as it will comprehensively cover varied topics that are of concern to the denim industry as a whole.
