Ajay Sardana of RIL is named to the ICC’s textiles expert committee

The National Expert Committee on Textiles’ new officers have been named by the Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC). Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) President and Head of Strategy and Business Development for Polyester Ajay Sardana has been named Co-Chairman (North) of the committee. Sardana, who won the India Sustainable Leadership Award in 2017 and was named one of India’s Most Influential Sustainability Leaders in 2018, brings extensive experience and leadership to the position.

The committee’s chairman has been reappointed as Sanjay K. Jain, managing director of TT Limited. For the past ten years, he has actively worked on state and federal policy issues and has held leadership roles in a number of nationally renowned textile organisations.

The Chief Marketing Officer is ManMohan Singh. of Grasim Industries Limited, has been chosen as the committee’s Co-Chairman (West). With 35 years in the textile business, he has successfully managed multiple textile projects and market expansion strategies in a variety of industries, including the woven, knitted, and MMCF apparel, home textiles, cotton, wool, and linen sectors.

The committee will work closely with the government to conduct investment summits, promote activities on both a national and international level, and foster stakeholder discussions using “India 2047” as the topic for 2022-2023.

The mission of the ICC National Expert Committee on Textiles is to support stakeholder dialogues, work on sector-specific initiatives including MSME and skill development, and give members a forum to communicate with business associates, governments, and world leaders.
