Strategic Partnerships Ensure Quality and Foster Innovation

The Chemours Company and its supply chain partners offer a global network of professionals and suppliers who understand the apparel, home, and contract textile segments. With more than 50 years of knowledge and experience to draw upon, Chemours has the expertise and passion to keep innovating.

Through an alliance with Huntsman Textile Effects, Chemours provides world-class science to meet customer demands for sustainable products with superior performance. Fabrics treated with these products can qualify for the Teflon™ or Teflon EcoElite™ brands, once brand assurance and performance levels are met.

Short-Chain Finishes
Chemours manufactures Capstone™ repellent and stain release products, the key ingredient in the PHOBOL® CP fabric finishes sold by Huntsman that can be branded Teflon™ fabric protector.

Non-Fluorinated/Biobased Finishes
Chemours has developed two unique repellent technologies, Zelan™ R3 and Zelan™ R2 PLUS.

Zelan™ R3 is a 60% renewably sourced and durable repellent finish that can be branded Teflon EcoElite™ renewably sourced finish.

Zelan™ R2 PLUS is a 38% renewably sourced and durable repellent finish that can be branded Teflon™ Eco Dry finish.

Brand Assurance Requirements for the Teflon™ Brand

Programs promoting the Teflon™ brand, including those utilizing Chemours-supplied or customer-created hang tags¹ and using the Teflon™ brand name on packaging,¹ must meet the following criteria:

  1. The mill/finisher must sign a trademark licensing agreement for the Teflon™ brand. Request a mill/finisher agreement.
  2. Textiles and fabrics must be treated with Chemours-based products.
  3. Brand assurance testing must be conducted by Huntsman or an approved testing laboratory to verify compliance with global performance specifications. Request Global Specifications for Fabrics Treated with Teflon™ Textile Finishes.
