10 ITAMMA SEMINARS UNDER “AZADI KA AMRIT MAHOTSAV” IN 2021-22

ITAMMA, formerly known as “Association of Merchants & Manufacturers of Textile Stores & Machinery (India), had organised events under the theme”Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav”- celebration of 75 years of India’s Independence, in partnership with Ministry of Heavy Industries (MHI). ITAMMA has conveyed its gratitude to the Ministry of Heavy Industries (MHI) for awarding the assignment of organising a series of Conference / Seminars under the theme “Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav”- celebration of 75  years of India’s Independence.

ITAMMA initiated this mission with the first seminar on November 20,2021 at Ahmedabad which was followed by other 9 seminars/conferences in the series. During all the events, local Associations, Research Centres and Academicians along with the stakeholders, were invited in order to create a platform of bringing these 4 fraternities together for discussion, during every event in order to explore the proposals which can be submitted to MHI under the various schemes for approval.

Seminar I

Venue: Club Babylon, Ahmedabad; Date: 20th November 2021; Local Association / Partner: L. D. College of Engineering, Ahmedabad

 Dr. Prof Ashwin Thakkar, L.D. College of Engineering as a Guests Speaker delivered his presentation on “Role of Academic Institution in the Growth of Indian Textile Engineering Industry” informed about the infrastructure available with the L.D. College of Engineering and the initiatives which have been taken by the college in the field of Textile Engineering.

Seminar II

Venue: BTMA Hall, Bhiwandi; Date: 1st December 2021. Local Association / Partner: Mill Store Merchant Manufacturers Association, Bhiwandi

Mr. Pramod Daspute, B.E.E. Certified Energy Auditor and External Faculty from Petroleum Conservation Research Association (PCRA) made presentations on “Energy Conservation Opportunities in Textile Industry”. The Electrical unit consumption problem was very severe at Bhiwandi so the presentation of Mr. Daspute was very much helpful to the delegates, who were also given detailed idea of Energy Audit and the areas where the development in the machines and components essential for the Conservation of Energy.

Mr. Ketan Sanghvi, Partner of Laxmi Textile Stores made his presentation on the “Successful implementation of the Rapier loom at CMTI” under the MHI project. His presentation created an atmosphere and confidence among the delegates / stake holders, to come forward and explore for the formation of SPV/ Cluster in the manufacturing of machines, components etc.

Mr. Harakchand Dodhia, Head Engineering & Sizing from Dodhia Group delivered the presentation on “MHI Assistance Needed for Technology Gap of Textile Engineering Industry at Bhiwandi” and informed the details of the technology gap which are being faced by the Bhiwandi Textile Cluster. He also gave the details in regard with the hurdles / limitations of the Bhiwandi Textile Industry in going for modernisation. He also pointed out the areas where the assistance required from the State and Central Government for creating a Sustainable Eco System.

Mr. N. D. Mhatre, Director General (Tech) ITAMMA explained how the Stake Holder of Bhiwandi can be benefited by the schemes of MHI in the formation of SPV / cluster

 

   

Seminar III

Venue: CICU Focal Point, Ludhiana: Date: 6thDecember 2021: Local Association / Partner: FICO Mega Machine Tool Cluster, Ludhiana

Guests Speakers from research institute of textiles and agriculture university, were invited with an objective was to inform the Stake Holders about the facilities available with the university and the possible proposal which can be prepared for manufacturing of Machine, components, formation of cluster etc. along with the universities.

 

Dr Vinay Midha, HOD, Department of Textile Technology, B.R. Ambedkar N.I.T. Jalandhar gave a detailed presentation on the facilities and infrastructure available with National Institute of Technology for the development of Textile Engineer Industry of Ludhiana.  Dr. Shiv Kumar Lohan, Scientist (FMPE) of Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana gave a detailed information on the work done by Punjab Agricultural University for the farming industry of Ludhiana. He also gave the information of the various projects imitated by Punjab Agricultural University. For the development of the Farming / Agricultural industry, he also informed about the projects in pipeline and proposals which can be submitted to MHI under the various schemes for funding along with joint ventures with these stake holders.

Mr. Kamal Kulshreshtha, Manager – International Business Development of Colorjet India Ltd gave a detailed presentation on the Latest Technology In Digital Printing and he also gave the Scope of Development of these technologies with Stake Holders of Ludhiana Textile Industry.

Mr. Uday Shankar, Head Sales, The Tata Power Co Ltd gave a detailed presentation on solar project where concentration done on Clean Energy and stressed upon this subject which is being covered under the schemes of Ministry of Heavy Industries.

     

   

 

Seminar IV

Venue: Haj Committee Hall, Malegaon; Date: 12thDecember 2021: Local Association / Partner: Real Powerloom Owners Association, Malegaon

Mr. Pramod Daspute, B.E.E. Certified Energy Auditor and External Faculty from Petroleum Conservation Research Association (PCRA) delivered presentations on “Energy Audit a  savings in Electrical Energy for Malegaon Powerloom Industry”. The problem of Electrical unit consumption was very severe at Malegaon accordingly Mr. Daspute stressed on Energy Audit and the areas where the development in the machines and components essential for  the Conservation of Energy.

In order to provide a business option for the Malegaon Industrialist, Mr. Arvind Shah, expert & Entrepreneur carrying manufacturing of Banana fibre was invited. Mr. Arvind Shah, Proprietor of Arvind Silk Mills presented on the topic “Scope of Products from Banana Fibre for the Malegaon Textile Industry”. Thereafter Mr. N D Mhatre invited the entrepreneurs of Malegaon to form a cluster for the manufacturing of machines for this project of development of products from Banana fibre.

Mr. Ziya Hakeemproprietor of ZiyaTextile informed that at one stage Malegaon was a component manufacturing industry and know for these products like lungi and saree. He said that with the proactive initiatives of MHI in the formation of cluster of manufacturers of machines and components, we shall once again come forward as the manufacturers of machines and components. It is the need of the hour in the formation of technical institutes/ textile colleges / machine tool room in Malegaon.

   

Seminar V

Venue: AMA Hall, Ahmedabad: Date: 17th December 2021: Local Association / Partner: Ahmedabad Textile Industry’s Research Association (ATIRA) & Indo German Tool Room (IGTR)

Ms. Deepali Plawat, Dy. Director from Ahmedabad Textile Industry’s Research Association (ATIRA) gave presentation on “ATIRA facilities for Textile and Allied Industries for Ahmedabad Textile Industry. She mentioned that ATIRA being given an excellence in composites is working on various projects under Ministry of Textiles and since after knowing the information in regard with Ministry of Heavy Industries supporting the textile Engineering Industry of India through various schemes; ATIRA will be taking a lead role in working out the various projects for the Gujarat Textile Engineering Industry which can be submitted to MHI for funding.

Ms. Tejashree Shah, Lead – Stakeholder Engagement of International Centre for Entrepreneurship and Technology (iCreate) gave presentation on “Entrepreneurship  Mentoring Programme”. She gave insight about the activities of iCreate whereby mainly concentrate on start-up by nurturing right from the beginning of the projects upto the marketing. She mentioned that since Ministry of Heavy Industries is also support start-up under certain scheme it will be beneficial for stake holders of Textile Engineering Industry of Gujarat  under the guidance of iCreate.

Mr. Ketan Panchal, Manager Marketing Centre In charge, Sanand and Bhavnagar from Indo German Tool Room (IGTR), gave detailed information on the activities performed by IGTR and also mentioned about the specific projects which are being undertaken for the benefit of Textile Engineering Industry. He further showed his willingness to upgrade the infrastructure set-up of IFTR under the various schemes of MHI.

Mr. Mehul Palan, National Head – SME Insure from Alliance Insurance Brokers gave presentation on “Alliance Insurance Brokers – SME Insure and its Facilities available for the Development of Indian Textile Engineering Industry”. He was specially invited for the event as during COVID situation many stake holders of textile engineering industry have reported their problem in regard with subject.

Mr. Deep Bhojani, Managing Director, Enerzytech Industries Pvt. Ltd official channel partner of The Tata Power Co Ltd gave a detailed presentation on solar project where concentration done Clean / Green Energy and stressed upon this subject which is being covered under the schemes of Ministry of Heavy Industries.

     

 

 

Seminar VI

Venue: Textile Development Foundation (TDF) Hall, Sholapur; Date: 23rd December 2021; Local Association / Partner: Textile Development Foundation (TDF), Sholapur

Mr. Shrinivas Bura, President of Textile Development Foundation (TDF), in his welcome speech mentioned that Sholapur Textile Industry is eager to submit a proposal to MHI on behalf of TDF and jointly with ITAMMA for the development of incubation centre under the appropriate scheme of MHI.  Mr. Ganesh Shenoy, Managing Director of Tex-Fab Industries Pvt Ltd gave detailed presentation on “New Technology for Cost Reduction in Yarn Dyeing & Drying”. He has given an insight of various technologies available in their machines from the point of view of Energy and Water conservation which is a very important aspect for the Towel and Chaddar Industry of Sholapur where the dyes and the chemicals plays a vital role in the delivery of colourful towels and chaddars. He also informed that he is willing to work with ITAMMA and TDF for the development of special machines or COE for the benefit of Sholapur Towel and Chaddar Industry

Mr. Manish Mehta, Director from Manvi Textile Air Engineers Pvt. Ltd gave presentation on “Humidification Technology suitable for Sholapur Textile Industry”. He informed about the importance of humidification temperature in the smooth working of towels and chaddars in the weaving industry. He also gave important tips for the conservation of energy and water while maintaining the RH of humidification for textile plants. He also informed the importance of maintaining of RH in the weaving loom shed especially where the pile formation of the towels plays a very vital role in the export markets.

Mr. Kedar Khamitkar, External Faculty from Petroleum Conservation Research Association (PCRA) gave presentation on “Energy Audit a savings in Electrical Energy for Solapur Textile Industry”.

Seminar VII

Venue: Indian Machine Tool Manufacturer’s Association (IMTMA), Pune Date: 28th December 2021; Local Association / Partner: Pudumjee Hall Mahratta Chamber of Commerce, Pune

Mr. Chandrasekhar, Senior Technical Advisor from Uday Pride gave detailed presentation on “Automotive Manufacturing Practices – Model for Industry”. He informed that ACMA and ITAMMA can work together on certain important projects for the development of Machine Tool Industry under the appropriate schemes of Ministry of Heavy Industry (MHI). He also gave the insight of various ACMA initiatives along with UNIDO in regards with LEAN and other programmes like 5S, Z, Kaizen etc.

Mr. Gautam Doshi, Advisor, Indian Machine Tool Manufacturer’s Association (IMTMA) gave detailed presentation on “Machine Tool Association Initiatives for Capital Goods Sector”. He gave insight about the IMTMA program and mentioned that IMTMA is ready to take up any project under the Ministry of Heavy Industry (MHI) schemes jointly with ITAMMA.

Mr. Ishan Shahade, Director from Swid Tech Pvt. Ltd. official channel partner of The Tata Power Co Ltd gave a detailed presentation on “Solar Energy need of the Hour”. He gave presentation on solar project where concentration is done on Clean / Green Energy.

 Mr Mhatre informed that there are many automobile units in Pune who are manufacturing roller, bearings, etc which are being used by the manufacturers of Textile Machines and so this platform has given an opportunity to both the Industries, TEI & Machine Tool Industry to strengthen their backward and forward integration.

Seminar VIII

Venue: Swami Vivekananda Seminar Hall, KCT, Coimbatore; Date: 5th January 2022; Local Association / Partner: Kumarguru College of Technology (KCT), Southern India Mills Association (SIMA) & Indian Textile Accessories Manufacturers Association (ITMAA). Two events at Coimbatore were organised by bringing the Textile Association of user industry, textile academician and stake holders of Engineering and Manufacturing Industry on the same platform.

Dr. M Saravanan, AP, Textile Technology Dept from Kumarguru College of Technology (KCT) gave detailed presentation on “Role of Academic Institutions in the Development of Indian Textile Engineering Industry”. He gave insight of the infrastructure available with KCT for the development of Textile Engineering Industry and the details of the various projects which have been undertaken by KCT college involving the Stake Holders of Engineering and  Manufacturing Industry.

Dr. K. Selvaraju, Secretary General from Southern India Mills Association (SIMA) gave detailed presentation on “Expectations of Textile Manufacturing Industry from Ministry of Heavy Industry”. He mentioned about the PLI scheme and gave detailed information about the various schemes of DHI and further assured for a cooperation for implementing the schemes at Coimbatore under SIMA along with KCT and ITAMMA for the benefit for the Textile Engineering Industry. He insisted on the requirement of quality machines especially in weaving field which are presently imported on higher side.

Dr. Jeyaraj K.L., Deputy General Manager, Textile Sales from Colorjet India Limited gave detailed presentation on “Latest Technology in Digital Textile Printing”. He also gave complete insight and history of the technology of digital printing and what will be the status and position in the textile industry in future.

Seminar IX; Venue: Gokulam Park, Coimbatore; Date: 6th January 2022; Local Association / Partner: PSG College of Technology, The South India Textile Research Association (SITRA) & Indian Textile Accessories Manufacturers Association (ITAMMA)

 Mr. D. Jayaraman, Deputy Director & HOD of Spinning & Weaving / Knitting from SITRA gave detailed presentation on “Scope for Collaborative Product Development in Textile Engineering”. He gave the complete insight of the facility available at SITRA and the various projects undertaken as well as in pipeline for the benefit of Textile Manufacturing Industry. He also informed that SITRA is well equipped with the infrastructure to take up any projects for the development of Engineering Industry under the scheme of MHI in future.

Dr. B. Vinod, Prof & Head, Dept of Robotics & Automation Engineering from PSG College of Technology gave detailed presentation on “The success story of Centre of Excellence in Welding Engineering and Technology”. They gave the details about the MHI sponsored project in welding technology. It was a wonderful insight to all delegates to know the various welding technology available and the information on Robotics and Automation in their processes.

Mr. Mhatre requested the authorities/ guest speaker of PSG college to explore the formation of welding technology park under the Scheme of MHI i.e. integrated industrial infrastructure facilities and accordingly we can submit the same proposal to MHI.

Seminar X

Venue: DKTE’s Institute Hall, Ichalkaranji. Date: 15th January 2022; Local Association / Partner: DKTE Society’s Textile & Engineering Institute

Mr. Pramod Daspute, B.E.E. Certified Energy Auditor and External Faculty from Petroleum Conservation Research Association (PCRA) delivered the presentation on “Energy Audit a savings in Electrical Energy for Ichalkaranji Powerloom Industry”

Prof. (Dr.) P. V. Kadole, Principal / Director DKTE’s Textile & Engineering Institute (Autonomous) during his welcome speech informed that DKTE have undertaken various Technological development projects involving faculties & students under the various schemes of Ministries viz DST, MOT, PCRA etc. He also proposed to undertake project on “Training on Air-jet weaving” under the appropriate scheme of MHI; as huge number of these looms are being installed at Ichalkaranji. Mr. Mhatre added that under this project various loom gadgets can be developed especially to take care of major problem like / Air leakages as pointed out by Mr. Daspute in his presentation, that almost 70% of the Air is being wasted through air leakages.

Mr. N. D. Mhatre, Director General (Tech) ITAMMA gave a detailed presentation during each of the above event on “Awareness on Schemes of Capital Goods Sector &Government Initiatives for the Development of Indian Textile Industry where he covered all the schemes.  Mr. Mhatre further gave a detailed talk on the possibilities of connecting on the various proposals of textile and farming institutes being discussed during this platform with the stake holders and presenting them to MHI for funding under appropriate Scheme.
