ITEMA will display their R9500-2denim denim-specific rapier weaving machine. The weaving apparatus is a gift from Universal Denims Limited, a company based in Bangladesh that chose ITEMA as its reliable technological partner for the creation of high-quality denim fabrics. The equipment on exhibit at the event is a part of the recent installation of 99 Itema rapier R9500-2denim machines by Universal Denim at its plant.

One of the first sophisticated multi-storey integrated textile businesses in Bangladesh, Universal Denim was built to a LEED Platinum standard and has state-of-the-art facilities on 160 Bigha of land in Bhaluka, Mymensingh. Leading fashion designers and retailers around the world get more than 36 million yards of top-quality denim from Universal Denims Limited.

The R9500-2denim on display is outfitted with iSAVER®, a unique mechatronic device that mayEliminating the waste selvedge entirely on the left-hand side of the fabric would result in significant cost savings, less waste, and a more sustainably woven denim product. For Bangladeshi weavers who work daily with Western brands that are increasingly interested in a green and sustainable production chain for the fabrics they buy, iSAVER®—which has already been deployed successfully in several top denim mills worldwide—represents a really fascinating added value.

ITEMA believes that DTG is the ideal platform for letting Bangladeshi weavers gain first-hand experience with the company’s weaving solutions, which are well-known around the world for their high textile mastery, eco-efficiency, and usability.

ITEMA portrays itself as a trustworthy partner for textile businesses rather than just a straightforward supplier, by offering cutting-edge weaving machinery, a real-time after-sales service, highly qualified weavers’ training, and integrated textile consulting.

ITEMA is in a unique position to provide textile manufacturers with the top three weft insertion technologies—rapier, airjet, and projectile—as well as OEM replacement parts, upgrade kits, a dedicated online store for the legacy brands Somet, Sulzer, and Vamatex, which are now a part of Itema, and highly qualified training in six different countries around the world.

“Universal Denims Limited works on sustainable production techniques, innovation, reducing carbon footprint, and utility efficiency,” said Atiqul Alam Chowdhury, the company’s managing director.
