Could you provide us with information regarding Testtex Lab?

Testtex was founded in 1988, and we specialise in quality control for textiles. Our name, Testtex, reflects our focus on textiles, and we provide a wide range of testing services, including physical testing, chemical testing, microbiological testing, and molecular biology testing. We are also one of the few OCA-approved labs for organic cotton certification.

We are excited to be a part of Bharat Tex 2024, a major textile exhibition. The event attracts a large number of visitors from both India and abroad, showcasing the potential of the Indian textile industry. Here, under one roof, you can find everything from fibres to garments and technical textiles. Quality is becoming increasingly important for brands, and there is a growing awareness of the need for high-quality products. We are proud to be a leading quality testing lab in India, offering a comprehensive range of services.

In addition to textile testing, we also provide mechanical testing, inspection, and certification services. We conduct fabric government inspections and certifications for various standards, including JDS zero discharge, BIS, Godart, CPSI, SASU, and ESMA. We work with international buyers and retailers in India, as well as in other categories such as footwear, toys, helmets, diapers, sanitary napkins, feeding bottles, and consumable items. We are a one-stop shop for all your testing needs, and we are happy to be a part of Bharat Tex, a well-organised and successful event.

What vision do you have in mind next?

We are a part of a team with a vision to become a major player in technical textiles. We’re already expanding internationally, with a presence in Saudi Arabia, Dubai, and Hong Kong. We have dedicated internal teams working in those locations. Additionally, we’ve established a collaborative laboratory in China, demonstrating our commitment to building strong partnerships. Our ultimate goal is to become a global leader, all while prioritising customer satisfaction – that’s our guiding principle.

What are your thoughts on brands and companies embracing testing for their value chain system?

We are an ISO 17025-accredited laboratory. This accreditation signifies that we meet the international standards for competence in testing and calibration. It demonstrates that our lab has a robust quality management system in place, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of our results.

In addition to ISO 17025 accreditation, we are also certified by the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS). This certification indicates that we comply with the specific requirements set forth by the BIS, a crucial factor for products entering the Indian market.

Our international clients frequently ask us about BIS certifications and Indian import regulations. This is because understanding these regulations is essential for successfully doing business in India. With our expertise, we can not only provide testing and calibration services but also guide our clients through the BIS certification process and navigate Indian import regulations.

So, by being ISO 17025 accredited, our test reports are not only accepted internationally but also hold weight within the Indian market thanks to our BIS certification. This comprehensive approach allows us to serve both your international operations and your potential expansion into India.

Do you handle both domestic and international brands in your work?

Absolutely! We help both international and domestic companies navigate the Indian market.  One of the key things we do is advise foreign businesses on entering India. Many international companies, especially big brands, are interested in expanding into India, but the regulations can be complex. That’s where we come in! We provide them with clear guidance on the steps they need to take to establish themselves in India. It’s very rewarding to help these major international brands successfully enter the Indian market.

In what location is your laboratory currently situated?

We have labs in Mumbai, Noida, and Tiruppur. We also have a collection facility in Rajpur, Ludhiana. In addition to these locations, we have facilities in Kolkata. We even have an international presence, with locations in Dubai (UAE), Saudi Arabia (KSA), Hong Kong, and China.

Could you share your thoughts on your time at this exhibition?

This is one of the biggest and best exhibitions we’ve ever been to! It’s truly massive, and we believe it might even be one of the biggest fairs in the world.

We’ve participated in trade shows before, like a magic show in the USA and another huge apparel fair. This one, though, covers everything related to clothing – fabrics, yarn, accessories, you name it!  It’s incredibly well-organised and interesting, with everything conveniently located under one roof. This makes it so much easier for people to source materials and check the quality on the spot. Having everything in one place is a game-changer!

We’re so grateful to the government for organising such a wonderful Expo. We hope they keep doing this. It feels like a significant first step, and we can’t wait to see what other milestones they will achieve!
