Hipac, a leading flexible packaging company, has launched the Reloop project, a circular economy initiative focusing on recovering and reusing polyethylene from waste stretch film. The program, titled “Close the Loop, Start Reimagining,” aims to provide an environmentally friendly way for stretch film consumers to handle their trash.

Users can receive money back from their used stretch film as long as it is clean, compressed, and free of impurities. Hipac receives this waste material from an approved collection partner with Second Life Plastic certification. The company, founded in 1991 by the Giorlando family, employs 230 people and has three plants in Italy, Spain, and Romania. The Reloop process begins with users donating used stretch film, which is compressed and delivered to an approved partner for certification by Second Life Plastic.

The partner processes the material to ensure its quality and compatibility for future use. Hipac’s Reloop project demonstrates Hipac’s leadership in advancing innovative solutions in the packaging sector and emphasizes the importance of manufacturer-user collaboration in achieving environmental sustainability.
