Odisha’s ambitious plans for industrial growth and investment took centre stage during a high-profile roadshow in Mumbai. This event, the second leg of the state’s global investment initiative following a successful Delhi roadshow, was led by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi.
The roadshow served as a precursor to the upcoming Utkarsh Odisha – Make in Odisha Conclave 2025, scheduled for January 28-29, 2025, in Bhubaneswar. Top industry leaders and influential business figures convened at the Mumbai event to discuss Odisha’s burgeoning investment landscape.
Chief Minister Majhi emphasised the state’s transformation into a skill-driven hub, particularly in IT, textiles, renewable energy, plastics, chemicals, and petrochemicals. He emphasised the state’s business-friendly environment, citing the recognition received in the BRAP 2022. Initiatives like the Single Window Clearance System and GO-SWIFT streamline investment processes, making Odisha an attractive destination for both domestic and international investors.
Sampad Chandra Swain, Minister of Industries, underscored Odisha’s strategic advantages, including its rich heritage, strategic location on India’s eastern coast, and alignment with the national ‘Purvodaya Yojana’. The state’s focus on developing garment manufacturing clusters, food processing parks, and multimodal logistics hubs further strengthens its position as a key player in India’s industrial landscape.
The roadshow concluded with a session where Chief Minister Majhi shared insights into Odisha’s vision for industrial growth and extended an invitation to global investors to explore the unique opportunities offered by the state. As Odisha gears up for the Make in Odisha Conclave 2025, it aims to solidify its position as a preferred investment destination and drive economic growth.
