Pumice is the newest fabric collection by New York-based Ultrafabrics, which aims to infuse active living areas both indoors and outdoors with the allure of underwater exploration. Made from responsibly sourced Ecovero viscose from Lenzing and recycled PET polyester from Repreve, the Pumice collection has an extraordinary durability and unusual color palette.

Nicole Meier, director of branding at Ultrafabrics, states, “We wanted to extend that technology to hospitality and residential design. We have always led in luxury marine performance fabrics, from mega yachts to smaller recreational watercraft.” “Pumice fabrics combine the durability of luxury marine fabrics with the soft feel of leather, making them suitable for outdoor furniture.”

With EPA-registered anti-mildew, antimicrobial, and antibacterial chemicals to stop deterioration and preserve cleanliness, these fabrics are designed for outdoor use. They guarantee vibrant colors even under adverse circumstances because of their exceptional colorfastness to sunshine, sweat, chlorine, and saltwater. They are perfect for busy environments like high-exposure furniture and marine sitting because of the textured surface’s tactile addition.

Pumice fabric repurposes about eight recycled plastic bottles every linear yard. The fabrics’ increased suitability for both commercial and domestic settings is further enhanced by their SCS Indoor Advantage Gold accreditation and bleach-cleanability.
