DESCAT UK- Dev Ethical Sustainable Crafts and Textiles- a DIPP recognized B2B social impact startup for fashion good to people and the planet is organizing “NNF DESIGN PRESENTATION-2021” during Fashion Revolution Week 19-25 April 2021.
The aim of the NNF DESIGN COMPETITION & PRESENTATION 2021 is to inculcate sustainable and circular fashion principles in the young minds of the fashion designers into their campus to support sustainable fashion brands in achieving UN Sustainable Development Goals by 2030. During the NNF DESIGN PRESENTATION 2021, innovative designs on themes of most sustainable NNF yarn & fabrics shortlisted by Design Review Board from 250+ students and professional designers participated from the largest pools of fashion schools competing with National Institute of Fashion Technology, Wuhan Textile University, Polimoda Florence, BGMEA University of Fashion & Technology (BUFT) for the NNF DESIGN COMPETITION 2021, as told by Amita Sharma Founder DESCATUK.
Design review board curating the submissions of the Participants of NNF DESIGN COMPETITION 2021 on parameters of sustainable and circular fashion principle have experts of national and international sustainable, circular fashion platform, press, industry, technology platform, institutions like Fashion for Good, The Artisan Gateway, Good Market, The Kaizen Sustainable Community, Alsisar Impact, Creative Dignity, Aditya Birla Group, IIHT, Arihant Garment Processor, Textile Institutions. The Competition is a platform for matching young creative designers with brands that see and hold promising product designs as the future of the fashion industry, as shared by Dr. Vishaka Karnad Honorary Secretary, The Textile Institute & Coordinator Design Review Board NNF DESIGN COMPETITION 2021 and Associate Professor, College of Home Science, Nirmala Niketan, Mumbai.
It was fun with future fashion professional, and I was quite amazed with their awareness of sustainable fashion, told by Vaishali Hono Image Management consultant, VJTI professional, volunteering mentoring group of participants from a fashion institute.
Creative energy of these your virgin future fashion professional channelized into sustainable/upcycled fashion industry by a group of faculty mentor, volunteer, mentors, and NIFTian at DESCATUK.
The curated design will be presented to the participating fashion brands in the NNF DESIGN PRESENTATION 2021 during 19 -25 Apr 2021 in Fashion Revolution Week. It will be one to one presentation to the PLATINUM Members followed by GOLD, SILVER. Fashion Startups, Women Entrepreneurs and Small Business owners are encouraged to participate for our aim “Together We Grow” explained by K D Sharma CEO DESCATUK
The categories explored by the young fashion designers, are exhaustive covering for every segment of the fashion industry. The interesting section is non textiles uses of NNF yarn and fabrics.
Brands and Participant collaborations will be announced in online events on 25th Apr 2021. Collaborative Brands, Mentors, and event partners will be offered a guided NNF cluster tour during 2021-22 window.
