It is evolving its approach to products and the creation of three new business units is part of the next phase of its strategy, said British fashion label.
Burberry announced it intends to create three new business units covering Ready-to-Wear, Accessories and Shoes and pool expertise within them to enhance product focus, increase the brand’s agility and elevate quality. As part of this, Adrian Ward-Rees is re-joining Burberry, effective July 20, to lead the Ready-to-Wear business unit. He was previously at Christian Dior, where he served as Senior Vice President and Managing Director of Dior Homme for the past four years. He has also worked at Lane Crawford and in merchandising at Burberry.
“The changes we intend to make will ensure we have the right structures in place as we enter the next phase of our strategy. I am delighted to welcome back Adrian to Burberry to lead our newly created Ready-to-Wear business unit. Embedding product specialisation will enable us to elevate quality and increase our agility, further supporting the momentum we have built across our brand and product and setting us up for future success as markets begin to recover”, said Marco Gobbetti, CEO, Burberry.
