With less emphasis on cutting down trees, the move represents the next phase in the firms’ relationship to create and commercialize high-quality natural fibers. Leading biotechnology business Nanollose (ASX:NC6) has reached an agreement with Paradise Textiles, the material science center of Alpine Group, for the exclusive supply of its sustainable NullarborTM fibers.

As per the joint venture agreement’s non-binding term sheet, Paradise will collaborate closely with Nanollose, doing research and development (R&D) to produce yarns and textiles using state-of-the-art NullarborTM fibers. Along with working closely with Nanollose to promote the NullarborTM brand and its fibers and fabrics to potential customers, they will also provide samples to increase customer interaction.

The environmentally friendly, non-tree NullarborTM fibers are made by a microbial fermentation method that uses the least amount of land, water, and energy to turn waste materials into microbial cellulose. Then, utilizing Nanollose technology, the microbial cellulose is converted into NullarborTM fibers, providing a good substitute for traditional plant-derived cellulose fibers.

The next stage of Paradise and Nanollose’s continuous partnership aims to commercialize scalable technology that produces fibers and fabrics with little environmental effect. They have developed and presented superior fabric constructions to a few fashion and footwear manufacturers from May 2022.

This accomplishment demonstrates Paradise Textiles’ continued dedication to cutting-edge fabric creation and cooperative alliances. Because of the special qualities and manufacturing method of nullarbor fiber, we can provide our clients with high-performing, environmentally friendly textile solutions. We have no doubt that this collaboration will propel noteworthy developments in the textile sector and contribute to our mission of making fashion accessible.

Commenting, Nanollose Executive Chairman, Dr Wayne Best, said: It brings me great pleasure to witness the formalization of this relationship in a manner that creates a foundation for both businesses to attain a profitable result. The partnership has been developing naturally for a while, and we are thrilled with Paradise Textiles’ excitement for our fibers and technology. Their clientele, level of experience, and dedication to innovation and sustainability make them an ideal match for our Nullarbor fiber technology.
