Unicharm will introduce its Mamy Poko brand of environmentally friendly baby wipes in Taiwan next month. The premium, organic cotton-based wipes have a variety of environmental certifications, including OEKO-TEX Standard100 and FSC Certification, which certifies forests throughout the globe to guarantee they meet the highest environmental and social standards. Products manufactured using raw materials from FSC forests are labelled with the ‘tick tree’ logo, indicating that purchasing them would not harm the world’s forests.
Oeko-Tex Standard100 is an international safety certification that is only awarded to textile goods that have met the stringent criteria as a result of analysis and tests involving more than 350 different types of dangerous chemical substances. All materials and chemicals used in the products must be shown to fulfil rigorous safety requirements in order to utilise this certification mark.
“Unicharm is working hard on the ORGABITS initiative, a sustainable activity that is kind to our world,” the firm added. Toyoshima Co, the parent company of Mamy Poko, is introducing a new brand of baby wipes in Taiwan. The firm obtained Oeko-Tex Certification, demonstrating compliance with the world’s highest safety standard, which was applied to “Natural Moony,” a premium product in Japan. Toyoshima claims it wants to help the environment “a little bit at a time” by using organic cotton goods.
