As majority of apparel exporters are facing liquidity crunch, they have urged the Government to clear pending RoSCTL amount.

Raja M. Shanmugham, President, Tirupur Exporters’ Association (TEA), wrote a letter to M. Ajit Kumar, Chairman, Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) and urged to clear the fund on priority basis.

“Despite announcement of weekly schedule for clearing each month pending RoSCTL amount, the pending amount has not been credited till today,” Raja said.

He further added that Tirupur knitwear garment export sector comprising 95 per cent of MSMEs is struggling to cope with liquidity crisis due to various negative factors including second wave of COVID-19 impact and in addition to this, the units have to make bonus payment to workers for the Diwali festival from now onwards.

Considering the crisis situation being faced by the exporting units, we request to kindly intervene and arrange to clear the pending RoSCTL amount immediately so that the exporting units could disburse the bonus to workers and also to meet out their financial commitments.

If we get the refund on priority basis, it will help the exporting units to come out of the liquidity crisis and strive for the growth of the units.
