In an agreement that will pave the way for even more worldwide growth and expansion, G-Star RAW and WHP worldwide, one of the world’s fastest-growing global brand management companies, today announced their collaboration.
The deal stipulates that the current G-Star shareholders, including the company’s founder Jos van Tilburg, will keep ownership of the company. The brand’s marketing and product development operations, as well as the wholesale, retail, and e-commerce distribution, will continue to be managed by the present G-Star RAW leadership team, under the direction of CEO Rob Schilder, out of the company’s Amsterdam headquarters.
WHP Global’s portfolio of brands, which includes G-Star RAW, generates over USD $7 billion in retail sales, propelling the business to become one of the biggest brand management companies in the world.
Jos van Tilburg, the company’s founder, stated in his opening statement: “In WHP Global, we experience the right strategic and financial partner for further global and sustainable growth in the decades to come, while staying true to our signature product, our dedicated teams, and our loyal business partners.”
We think G-Star RAW is well-positioned for rapid expansion because it is a powerful digital denim fashion brand with an amazing team. We are ecstatic to work with the creator Jos van Tilburg and the CEO Rob Schilder, said Yehuda Shmidman, chairman and CEO of WHP Global.
“G-Star has successfully made the move to become an online-first corporation during the past few years. Rob Schilder, CEO of G-Star, continued, “We look forward to working closely with WHP worldwide in this relationship as we utilise their knowledge to accelerate G-Star’s worldwide expansion by increasing our footprint in the US and tapping into new geographies as well as new product categories.
The transaction is anticipated to close in Q4 2023, pending the completion of the works council process and other normal closing conditions. The transaction’s financial details are not being made public.
