India plans develop mega textile city like China

The Government of Andhra Pradesh may accept the proposal of NITI Aayog to build a mega textile city on the lines of the China Textile City in Keqiao district. The city of textiles would cater mainly to the export market. The Central Government has already initiated the process of identifying land, technology and expertise to build the town.

According to a Business Standard article, textile minister Smriti Irani spoke to Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandra Babu Naidu asking the state government to supply land and other facilities to create the mega textile region.
