India launches app, website for Handloom Mark Scheme #vocalforhandloom

On an auspicious day National Handloom Day, Indian Textile Minister Smriti Irani inaugurated a portal named as ‘My Handloom’. With the help of this portal individual weavers and various organisation can apply for various benefits given by the government like government schemes, handloom marketing assistance and awards. She also launched a mobile app and backend website for ‘Handloom Mark Scheme (HML)’  on this occasion.  This Handloom Mark will help to promote the provide collective identity to the authentic handloom products. The app helps ascertain the genuineness and originality of the product through unique and dynamic QR code labels affixed on each handloom product, according to an official release.
