Together with the EkoDoku Women Sustainable Living Cooperative, the International Labour Organization (ILO) Office in Türkiye has created a fashion line that uses eco-friendly materials and manufacturing methods. Through this program, the ILO hopes to provide official work opportunities and increase awareness of the negative consequences of fast fashion while also aiding in the organization of the Turkish fashion industry.

At EkoDoku, the ILO is improving Nature-Based Solutions (NbS) in order to tackle issues like low salaries, limited productivity, and informal employment. Promoting inclusion and the creation of green jobs are the main goals of the EkoDoku pilot project, with a focus on underprivileged populations, status holders, candidates for international protection, and Syrians under temporary protection.

The chairman and founder member of EkoDoku, Esra Üzel Yüncüler, highlighted the cooperative’s commitment to women’s employment, decent work, and sustainable textiles.
