Pratteln, Switzerland, July 25, 2024 – EcoVadis, a global certification agency for sustainability performance, has given Archroma, a leader in specialty chemicals toward sustainable solutions, a gold rating.

As a result, Archroma is now firmly positioned in the top 5% of the more than 130,000 businesses from 180 countries and 220 industries that EcoVadis evaluated based on strict standards pertaining to labor and human rights, ethics, environmental performance, and sustainable procurement.

“Everything we do at Archroma is driven by a well-defined sustainability strategy that aims to create and implement cutting-edge solutions that improve people’s lives. The ambitious environmental operations targets we have established for 2030 embody this, according to Mark Garrett, Group CEO of Archroma. “Our constant objective is to steer our sector toward a more sustainable future. We are able to maintain our emphasis on customers and the environment while strengthening our commitment to transparency and partnership by interacting with platforms such as EcoVadis.

It also includes Archroma’s internal operational goals. With zero hazardous waste going to landfills, Archroma aims to cut water intensity by 40%, energy intensity by 15%, and trash intensity by 10% between 2023 and 2030. Additionally, it plans to aggressively reduce its own plants and processes’ absolute greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 20%, as well as its indirect GHG emissions from its energy use, by 40%.

“Since 2017, we have been monitoring our sustainability journey through the EcoVadis audits, and it has been incredibly inspiring to see how far we have come as well as how much the industry standard for sustainability management has evolved over this period. Archroma’s Group Sustainability Director, Martina Beitke, stated. “At Archroma, we think that the keys to creating value for our stakeholders and a positive impact on people and the planet are strong leadership, shared goals, and a culture that supports innovation and partnership.”
