Under SITP, 1,757 units are operational, mobilised investment of Rs. 12,470 crore

Under the Scheme for Integrated Textile Park (SITP), out of 56 textile Parks approved/sanctioned by the Government, 24 parks have been completed as per scheme guidelines and in these parks, a total of 1,757 units are operational, and around Rs. 12,470 crore of investment has been mobilised – generating 95,644 jobs till date.

This information was given by Minister of State for Textiles Darshana Jardosh in a written reply in the Lok Sabha.

The Government of India is implementing the SITP, which provides support for creating world-class infrastructure facilities to set up textile units.

Notably, the Government grant up to Rs. 40 crore per park is released in instalments, subject to the progress achieved in the creation of infrastructure and common facilities.

Now to attract investment, boost employment generation and position itself strongly in the global textile market, the Government has approved setting up of seven PM Mega Integrated Textile Region and Apparel (PM MITRA) Parks in Greenfield/Brownfield sites including plug and play facility with an outlay of Rs. 4,445 crore for a period of seven years up to 2027-28.
