DS Group’s luxury arm, DS Luxury, is planning to invest up to ₹200 crore in expanding its portfolio of luxury brands in India, according to a report in Mint.

Currently, the company sells menswear brands like Berluti, Tom Ford, Brioni, and Brunello Cucinelli in luxury malls. Ritesh Kumar, the promoter of DS Group, stated that India’s luxury products market is expected to grow significantly in the next decade. Kumar revealed that the investment would be directed towards introducing new brands, with a particular focus on luxury womenswear. The group is currently in talks to finalize some deals.

The report highlighted that DS Luxury recently opened its first Brioni store in Delhi’s “The Chanakya” mall. Ritesh Kumar emphasized the potential of the Indian luxury market, urging luxury houses to adapt to local preferences, such as establishing high-street stores and creating products that resonate with Indian consumers. DS Group, known for its presence in tobacco products and the FMCG sector, also operates in retail and hospitality.

The company plans to expand its offerings to include women’s luxury wear and potentially introduce multi-brand retail in the future. In recent years, DS Group has brought international luxury brands like Tom Ford to India and acquired the business of an existing luxury player, gaining brands like Berluti and Brunello Cucinelli.

Alongside its luxury arm, the DS group owns other prominent brands including Swiss luxury chocolate Laderach, childrenswear store Les Petis, and premium grocery and retail store Le Marche.
