LIFE SKILLS & INNOVATION TO BENEFIT THE COTTON TEXTILE SECTOR

The recent COVID-19 has created a new confidence among general public on the importance of R & D. In a lecture organized jointly by Indian Association of Like Skills Education and Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS), India on August 26, 2022, 3-5 PM IST, Professor Seshadri Ramkumar presented how innovation has played a role in combating serious situations such as BP Oil Spill in the United States and the COVID-19 global pandemic. In an answer to a question on how life skill education can support the cotton sector, Dr. Ramkumar brought example to show how United States’ cotton farmers organize and interact with policy makers and scientists in combating critical situations like climate change, drought, etc.

The talk attracted faculty and students from KISS and members of the Indian Association of Life Skills Education including its Founder President Dr. Radhakrishnan Nair.

Other presenter in the event was Ms. Shanti Murmu, who has been doing pioneering work to uplift unrepresented people in India and is recognized as Change Maker.
