FDCI Spotlights Indian Handloom at BRICS+ Fashion Summit in Moscow

In a magnificent display of Indian fashion and culture, the Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI) presented a spectacular show at the BRICS+ Fashion Summit held in Moscow. This showcase became the summit’s highlight, capturing the essence of Indian tradition and creativity.

Led by Chairman Sunil Sethi and a team of talented designers, the Indian delegation wowed the attendees at the neoclassical mansion, The Pashkov House. Among the distinguished guests were H.E. Shri Pavan Kapoor, Ambassador of India to Russia; industry experts; renowned designers; influential buyers; and representatives from educational fashion institutions and international fashion associations.

The FDCI’s presentation featured stunning collections by Indian designers Ritesh Kumar, Naushad Ali, Gaurav Khanijo, and Shruti Sancheti. These designers impressed the audience with their innovative use of Indian handloom fabrics, showcasing India’s rich heritage and cultural diversity.

Chairman Sunil Sethi expressed his excitement: “FDCI was thrilled to participate in the BRICS+ fashion summit in Moscow. Our unwavering commitment to promoting Indian handloom is evident through our collection, which serves as a testament to the policies of the KVIC (Khadi and Village Industries Commission).”

The BRICS+ fashion summit held in Moscow has established the city as a global fashion epicenter. This event has become a melting pot of fashion and creativity, with representatives from 60 countries and a diverse range of international brands.
