Global Export Baby wear Knits import decline

The global export of babywear knits which was $6,459.44 million in 2017, dropped 5.98 per cent to $6,073.31 million in 2019. Total exports declined 8.23 per cent in 2019 over the previous year, according to data from TexPro. Further, the exports are expected to decrease to $5,582.42 million in 2022 with a rate of 8.08 per cent from 2019.
The global import value of babywear knits was $6,102.12 million in 2017 and it rose 6.57 per cent to $7,762.71 million in 2019, according to Fibre2Fashion’s market analysis tool TexPro. Total imports declined 8.83 per cent in 2019 over the previous year and is expected to decline to $7,135.27 million in 2022 with a rate of 8.08 per cent from 2019.
China ($2,131.76 million), India ($927.83 million) and Spain ($389.71 million) were the key exporters of babywear knits across the globe in 2019, together comprising 56.79 per cent of total export. These were followed by UK ($244.50 million), Poland ($222.15 million) and France ($216.59 million).
From 2015 to 2019, the most notable rate of growth in terms of export value, amongst the main exporting countries, was attained by Spain (180.89 per cent) and India (32.08 per cent).
US ($1,836.24 million), UK ($1,041.16 million), Spain ($609.99 million), France ($513.97 million) and Germany ($455.57 million) were the key importers of babywear knits in the globe in 2019, together comprising 57.41 per cent of total import. These were followed by Italy ($437.16 million), Poland ($251.64 million) and the Netherlands ($248.93 million).
From 2015 to 2019, the most notable rate of growth in terms of import value, amongst the main importing countries, was attained by UK (109.18 per cent), Spain (89.66 per cent) and Germany (12.47 per cent).
