Dr Nikhil Varma ,Technical Lead at Algorand Foundation’s India arm, AlgoBharat, where he engages with universities and companies to accelerate the diffusion of blockchain technology in India. Nikhil is an Associate Professor at Ramapo College of New Jersey, and a guest professor at India Institute of Technology (IIT), Delhi, and Molde University, Norway where he teaches supply chain analytics & blockchain related courses. Prior to academics, Nikhil spent time as a developer, analyst, management consultant and a project manager. He also started two companies and served on the board of a public company that acquired his startup. He has a bachelor’s degree in computer engineering from Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra, India and a master’s in computer engineering from Concordia University, Montreal, Canada. He also has an MBA and a PhD in management from HEC Montreal. Nikhil is passionate about optimizing Supply chain by decentralization and eventually using machine learning to build optimized and automated decision models with smart contracts. He teaches blockchain to managers and has given lectures at several institutions and conferences on institutionalization of blockchain.
