Bharat Tex 2025 has kicked off with tremendous success, drawing global attention and active participation from over 120 countries, 33 international trade associations, and 46 leading brands. The event, held at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, commenced with a visit from Hon’ble Minister of Textiles Shri Giriraj Singh, Hon’ble Minister of State for Textiles Shri Pabitra Margherita, and other distinguished dignitaries, setting the stage for a transformative celebration of innovation, sustainability, and global collaboration within the textile industry.

Showcasing India’s Leadership in the Global Textile Ecosystem

Bharat Tex 2025 has become a key platform for showcasing India’s pivotal role in the global textile supply chain. The event emphasizes critical themes such as sustainable manufacturing, digital transformation, trade expansion, and startup-driven growth. With participation from textile-producing states including Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu, the event highlights the diverse regional strengths within India’s textile sector.

The event opened with a spectacular display of India’s rich textile traditions. Artisans and weavers demonstrated intricate techniques such as Banarasi weaving, Pashmina production, Kanjeevaram silk weaving, and Chikankari embroidery, underscoring the value of preserving traditional craftsmanship while integrating modern production methods to cater to contemporary market demands.

The launch of Aavartan, a comprehensive guide featuring over 3,000 textile startups, illustrated the sector’s potential for technological innovation and sustainable growth. The Sutradhar Pitch Fest, a “Shark Tank”-style pitch event, provided a dynamic platform for innovative startups in areas such as sustainable textiles, smart fabrics, and digital fashion to present their ideas to potential investors.

Engaging Knowledge Sessions and Industry Dialogues

Day 1 saw high-impact knowledge sessions, including discussions on India’s role as a stable global partner, scaling up textile manufacturing, and unlocking employment potential in the sector. Key panel discussions and roundtables brought together government officials, industry veterans, and global thought leaders, offering valuable insights into industry growth and future opportunities.

Expanding India’s Global Textile Exports

On Day 2, focus shifted to India’s textile exports, with discussions on strategies to achieve the ambitious $100 billion export target. Sessions highlighted how trade agreements, logistics improvements, and diversifying market access can further strengthen India’s global textile footprint.

Leadership Insights and Investment Opportunities

A notable highlight of Day 2 was the Fire Side Chat with Ms. Dipali Goenka, CEO & MD of Welspun Living Ltd., where she shared her thoughts on leadership, sustainability, and the role of digital transformation in textiles. The Investors’ Meet provided a platform for investors and textile sector leaders to discuss funding opportunities, infrastructure development, and policy incentives to boost capital investments.
