The convocation ceremony of the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) in Gandhinagar was a moment of great pride as degrees were conferred upon 266 talented students. The degrees spanned various disciplines including fashion design, fashion communication, textile design, accessory design, fashion management, fashion technology, and master of design.
Rohit Kansal, the NIFT Director General and Additional Secretary (Textiles) delivered an inspiring speech to the class of 2023. He invoked the words of John F. Kennedy, urging the students to reflect upon their contributions to society, family, and country.
Kansal emphasized values such as respect for parents, fairness towards co-workers, empathy for the less privileged, kindness towards the environment, adherence to constitutional duties, fostering a rational mindset, and taking pride in India’s ancient civilization that spans over 5,000 years.
Following the convocation, a special event called the Khadi Mahotsav was organized to commemorate the 154th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. One of the highlights of the Mahotsav was an exhibition showcasing 30 captivating charcoal paintings created by NIFT students, beautifully portraying the life and teachings of the revered Mahatma.
The National Institute of Fashion Technology, Gandhinagar, celebrated the achievements of its students while also paying tribute to the legacy of Mahatma Gandhi, reminding the graduates of their responsibility to contribute positively to society.
