Asahi Tennants (TTC)Commences Operation At Dahej Plant

India’s Asahi Songwon Colors recently announced that Asahi Tennants Color, its joint venture with Tennants Textile Colours (TTC) in the United Kingdom, has commenced commercial operations at its plant in Dahej in Bharuch, Gujarat. The plant will make red and yellow pigments. The installed capacity of the AZO pigment plant is 2400 metric tonnes per annum.

The plant has been set up at a cost of ₹82 crore, according to Indian media reports.

The joint venture, in which Asahi holds 51 per cent stake and TTC the rest, was announced on October 22 last year. Its expected month of commissioning was March next year.

Asahi Songwon Colors is in the business of manufacturing pigments. Pigments are colourants, adding colour to everything around us, namely ink, paints, plastics, textiles and rubber.
