Maharishi has unveiled its latest Spring / Summer 2020 collection, an offering of apparel made using traditional Indonesian patterning methods.
Ikat taken from the Indonesian for “to bind” is one of the oldest forms of textile patterning. Fabrics are formed using a resist-dyeing process, with bundles of cotton tightly wrapped together, dyed and then hand-loom woven together to create a vivid and unique patterned fabric.
The latest release from the SS20 collection of maharishi is made entirely using this Ikat technique. It is designed to imitate Strichtarn rain camouflage, combining it with a classic military pattern. The collection is made up of a camp collar summer shirt, pullover smock, asym collar shirt and asym track shorts.
The full collection is available now on the maharishi web store.
In other news, Vetements and Reebok have released a tweaked version of the Spike Runner.
