Yarns are to fashion what molecules are to chemistry. From here, the visionary smart-tech brand and innovator Bemberg™ by Asahi Kasei could not miss Filo Fair, the international trade show and business platform dedicated to premium collections of yarns and fibers with a sustainable and ethical imprint. Having recently celebrated its 90th anniversary, Filo will represent another pivotal occasion for Bemberg™ to showcase its new brand identity, focused on exceptional beauty, one-of-a-kind uniqueness and joyful comfort. Accompanied by the latest claim “Crafted Elegance”, it perfectly embodies its values of preciousness, quality and refined aesthetic blended with innovation and responsible values.
Milan, February 2022 – “After Pitti in Florence and Première Vision in Paris – the first two chapters of our ongoing journey -, Filo Fair is a very important opportunity to focus on the product itself, our cutting-edge and high-performing yarns – and even to unveil some of the ultimate collaborations such as PNLP, Ecoalf, Duarte and Jamé.” Says Mr. Koji Hamada, CEO of Asahi Kasei Fibers Italia.
THE YARNS – Originally conceived in 1931, Bemberg™ by Asahi Kasei is not a simple yarn, but the product of over 90 years of high-tech research and experimentation as well as commitment to a sustainable future. The result is a high-performing fiber with a circular- economy imprint. Indeed, it is made from the smart-tech transformation of cotton linter pre-consumer material, converted through a traceable and transparent closed loop process. Bemberg™ is a biodegradable and compostable material as verified by the INNOVHUB 3rd party. Moreover, Bemberg™ filaments disintegrate and that Bemberg™’s very low concentration of hazardous substances complies with the limits specified by the UNI EN 13432
“After all, yarns can be seen as a wardrobe of performances, starting from the look and touch” continues Hamada. Indeed, the fiber adds style fashion at 360° – from casual to exquisitely chic, but also contemporary sportswear, precious nightwear, and athleisure. Thanks to moisture control features it brings freshness during the summer and warmth in wintertime.
Moreover Ettore Pellegrini, Marketing & Sales Manager of Asahi Kasei Fibers Italia, will host a special talk named “The contemporary applications of Bemberg™“, which is scheduled to take place during the first day of the fair at 15.00 P.M and will deal with the different design purposes of the Bemberg ™ fiber in the latest years.
BRAND NEW COLLABS – “In Milan we are extremely proud to unveil our ultimate collaborations.”
- PNLP was born as a tribute to weaving, to the tenacity and wit of women narrated in the famous stratagem of Penelope’s Web in the Odyssey. Since then, Ecoalf’s mission has been to make a new generation of recycled products with the same quality and design as the best non-recycled. “By weaving yarns, we are creating the molecules of a sustainable and stylish future.” Adds Hamada. “And with that, what we mean is to keep investing in technology in order to always be at the forefront of innovation.
