The Global Investors Summit (GIS) will begin today and end on Sunday. A group of industry captians will be addressed during the summit.
Lucknow has given a face-lift for the mega event. The venue of the main event is spread over 70 acres and has been named “Vrindavan Yojana”. The venue will also showcase the “Brand UP” in a global, industrial and economic level. So far, Uttar Pradesh has recieved investment proposal of Rs.27 trillion from more then 18,000 companies. The investments are from various sectors. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed with various companies and corporations.
Till now, Reliance Industries, Tata Group, JK, etc have committed to invest in the GIS. Also, The Lulu Group, Seiko Advance, One World Corporation, Boson Energy, Embracer, Geothermal Core are also going to invest in the GIS. There are around 1,000 companies which had signed the MoU 5 years back, now the number has increased. There are unlimited potential investments from potential sectors. This will harness the soft power of music, cultural heritage, cuisine and spiritual-religious traditions. The business tycoon Gautam Adani is unlikely to attend the GIS. Despite of this, Adani Group has promised to set up four cement plans in the state. There is already a proposed ground work in Sonabhadra the pipeline . The project will be commencing soon.
The government has plans of hard-selling its airports, expressways, inland waterways, metro rails, logistics hubs, dry ports and the upcoming freight corridors, film city, Jewar and Ayodhya International airports for which the blueprint is ready. In the big-ticket event, the state has joined hands with Denmark, Netherlands, Singapore, Japan, South Korea, Australia, The UK, UAE, Italy and Mauritius. The governments has previously had road shows with 16 countries which also includes top 16 cities of India.
It has managed to get proposals from various sectors. The road shows held in December 2022 has managed to collect Rs.7 trillion investment proposals to the state. The current venue of the GIS which was also host to the Defense Expo in 2020, was divided into 7 blocks. The inaugural ceremony was attended by 10,000 people. The function was attended by top industrialist and investors from around the world. There was also a VIP lounge for the partner nations, CII, FICCI. A food court serving local, national and international cuisine was also arranged.
The third block consisted of hangars which had a capacity of 250 people each. This was done to organise different sessions at the same time. Each hangar was dedicated to different themes and departments. A media centre has been set up as well which will telecast the event live. The fourth block is dedicated to the cultural events and the fifth block will be showing the drone shows.
