The event attracted its target audience by showcasing breakthrough products and fostering interactions with 142 companies specializing in garment and textile machinery. 

Recently held in Mumbai from May 11 to May 13, this year the exhibition focused on Denim specifically, bringing to notice all the innovations and product development made in the denim market. We interviewed some of the companies, brands and individuals present at the sight to ask them about their specializations and how they are planning on innovating themselves in the future.

In an interview with Mr. Arpit Srivastava, the Regional Marketing and Branding Manager of Lenzing, the Austrian sustainable wood-based fiber producer, shared insights about the company and its products. Lenzing is one of the leading producers of wood-based fibers with prominent brands like Tencel, which is the fiber brand for modal and lyocell fibers, and EcoVero, which is the fiber brand for eco viscose. 

Lenzing’s closed-loop production process ensures high sustainability, superior comfort, and aesthetic features with breathability, softness, and luster in their fibers. Srivastava mentioned some of the renowned brands and companies that use Lenzing’s products, such as Levi’s, H&M, Jockey, and many more. The company has been marketing its products through multiple channels, including B2B events, R&D team, website, social media, PR, and media, to connect with the relevant buyers, designers, sourcing teams, and create awareness about the possibilities and applications of their products.

While interviewing Dr. Sanjay Katode, Asst. Manager (Laundry Division) at Dystar, he informed that Dystar is always looking for ways to reduce their environmental impact. He also added that Dystar is committed to providing high-quality products and services to their customers. They have a team of experienced researchers who are constantly working to develop new and innovative products.

While talking to Mr. Vasu Tipre, General Manager (Exports) at Suryalakshmi Cotton mills ltd, the company was described as an intermediate supplier of fabric to brands, both nationally and internationally. Their customer base is small and largely made up of established connections in the industry. Internationally, they supply brands like Lee Wrangler, Walmart, Amazon, and Timberland. The company focuses on innovation, introducing different types of fibers, shades and sustainable inputs into their products.

Ms. Ananya Chatterjee is an artist who specializes in hand-painted denim. She works on commission, creating custom pieces for clients of all ages. Chatterjee’s work is unique and one-of-a-kind, and she is committed to sustainability and upcycling. Chatterjee is passionate about her work and is excited to see where her business takes her. She is committed to creating high-quality, unique pieces that her clients will love.

Mr. S.K. Tyagi, GM of Marketing at Threads of Harman, discussed the company’s focus on catering to major brands, including Aditya Birla Fashion and Reliance Retail. They have a limited production capacity but provide specific order sizes every month and deliver according to schedule. The company plans to introduce sustainability innovations in the future. Mr. Tyagi’s 20 years of marketing experience has enabled the company to specialize in product development and strategic market placement. The company’s future growth plans involve utilizing their sister company, Harman Fashion, and leveraging their retail chain to penetrate the market. 

KG Denim Limited and Ginni International Ltd are B2B companies that specialize in denim and non-denim fabrics. As informed by Mr. Gokul T., Marketing Executive at KG Denims Limited, the company has introduced several new innovations, including biodegradable poly, flame retardants, moisture management, water repellent, UV protection, and waterless dyeing.

While talking to Mr. Mukesh Sharma, General Manager, Marketing at Ginni international ltd, he shared how the company markets its products to other brands based on seasons, such as spring-summer or autumn-winter. Ginni International Ltd. is able to customize its products according to client demand. The company is able to customize the quality, weight, and blend of its fabrics to meet the specific needs of its clients.
