CAI Reduces Cotton Crop Estimation To 31.3 million Bales For 2022-2023 Season

While production is anticipated to dip in Maharashtra, Telangana, and Haryana, the Cotton Association of India (CAI) further decreased its estimate of the cotton harvest for the 2022–23 season on Thursday, bringing it to 313 lakh bales.

According to a statement from the CAI, 307.05 lakh bales of cotton were produced overall in the most recent season. October marks the start of the cotton crop season.

According to CAI, Maharashtra would lose 2 lakh bales of cotton output this season, which started in October 2022, Telangana will lose 3 lakh bales, and Haryana will lose 1 lakh bales.

According to estimates, 192.73 lakh bales of cotton would be available from October 2022 to February 2023, of which 154.84 lakh bales will arrive domestically and 6 lakh bales will be imported. the season’s initial stock, which the CAI assessed to be 31.89 lakh bales.
