Two new board of directors appointments are made by Origin Materials.

Craig Rogerson and R. Tony Tripeny have been appointed to the board of directors of Origin Materials (“Origin”), a carbon-negative materials firm with the goal of facilitating the global transition to sustainable materials. As on May 1, Mr. Tripeny will join the Audit and Nominating & Corporate Governance Committees, while Mr. Rogerson will continue to serve on the Board’s Audit and Compensation Committees.

The extensive operations, strategy, corporate finance, and M&A experience of the new directors will help Origin achieve its goal of facilitating the global switch to sustainable materials.

With four decades of executive experience, Mr. Rogerson has led both privately and publicly traded specialised chemical companies. From July 2017 until his retirement in January 2023, he held the positions of Chairman, President, and Chief Executive Officer at Hexion Inc., a major global manufacturer of adhesives and performance materials. He previously held the positions of Chairman, President, and Chief Executive Officer of Chemtura Corporation, a global creator, producer, and marketer of tailored industrial speciality chemicals, from December 2008 until April 2017. From December 2003 to November 2008, Mr. Rogerson also held the positions of president, chief executive officer, and director at Hercules Incorporated. He is now on the boards of the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, McLaren Northern Michigan Hospital, and the independent board chair of PPL Corporation. Formerly, he also served on the boards of American Chemistry Council, Society of Chemical Industry, and Ashland Global Holdings Inc. Mr. Rogerson graduated from Michigan State University with a degree in chemical engineering, and he continues to serve on the board of the college’s alumni association and the advisory board for the Chemical Engineering & Materials Science Department at Michigan State University.

In addition to having a background in international corporate finance, Mr. Tripeny has over three decades of considerable operational, strategy, and M&A experience. He also has in-depth understanding of the manufacturing, technology, and materials science industries. He has been a director at Mesa Laboratories, Inc. since 2022, a leader in the design and production of vital quality control systems and instruments for the life sciences. Mr. Tripeny held a number of progressive leadership positions in the fields of corporate accounting and finance during his 36-year career with Corning, Incorporated, a leading innovator in materials science on a global scale, including Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer, and Senior Vice President, Corporate Controller, and Principal Accounting Officer. He was also a member of the Hardinge board. Inc. from 2012 to 2018 and worked from 1981 to 1985 as a financial analyst for GKN Automotive Inc. Mr. Tripeny graduated with a degree in economics from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania, and he is a member of both the Financial Executives Institute and the Institute of Management Accounting.
