DGTR Reviews Dumping Duty On Flax Yarn From China

Following concerns from the domestic industry, the investigative branch of the commerce ministry, DGTR, has opened a review of the necessity of maintaining the anti-dumping tariff on flax yarn imported from China. Before the Directorate General of Trade Remedies (DGTR), Grasim Industries Ltd. and Sintex Industries have submitted an application for the start of the sunset review of the anti-dumping tax imposed on imports of “flax yarn of below 70 lea count” exported from China to India.

The DGTR would assess whether it was necessary to maintain the duties and would consider whether the expiration of current duties would likely result in a continuation or recurrence of dumping and have an effect on the domestic industry.

In order to ensure fair trade practises and level the playing field for domestic producers, the duty to exporters and producers abroad.
