In a significant step towards accelerating the sustainable transformation of the chemical and materials industry, nova-Institute announces the appointment of Dr. Lars Börger as Co-CEO, effective 1 March 2025. Börger will join Michael Carus, the current CEO and founder of nova-Institute, to spearhead innovation and policy advocacy for renewable carbon solutions.

With over 25 years of experience in biopolymers, renewable chemicals, and sustainability leadership at BASF and Neste, Börger brings extensive industry expertise to nova-Institute. His role will be instrumental in advancing the institute’s mission to support companies, policymakers, and associations in transitioning to fossil-free solutions through research, consultancy, and strategic guidance.
