Uganda’s Government Wants to Build Silk Factories in 13 Regions

China has provided machines worth $4 million to the Ministry of Science, Technology, and Innovation for the creation of silk factories in thirteen regions around the country. This comes at a time when farmers are working to make silk a solid source of income and poverty reduction, with a focus on silkworms, which are important in the textile industry.
