The Center will establish mega textile parks in seven states in an effort to draw significant investments and generate a significant amount of jobs.
On Friday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the establishment of PM MITRA (mega integrated textile region and apparel) parks in Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, and Uttar Pradesh. He claimed that these parks would draw significant investments and generate thousands of jobs over the following years.
The PM tweeted: “The PM MITRA giant textile parks will give the textiles sector cutting-edge facilities… A excellent example of “Made in India” and “Make for the World” will be this. According to Piyush Goyal, minister of textiles for the union, the parks will be built at a cost of Rs. 4,445 crore. According to him, it will bring in 70,000 crores of rupees and generate 20 lakh jobs.
