Due to pandemic fashion magazines are in dilemma and, consequently, lack of advertisers have forced them to rethink about what to present on their covers as well as the glossy pages inside. Vogue Italia was the first to release a blank cover for their March issue due to the devastating impact of coronavirus and Vogue America is here to follow similar steps.
The popular Conde Nast fashion published their June/July 2020 cover captured by the famous artist Irving Penn taken in 1970 depicting a rose in a white background. Titled ‘Our Common Thread’, the cover is a poignant representation of the impact of the pandemic on the magazine as well as the rest of the world. It is the first still life cover in the past 50 years. Mentioning the issue features many collaborations from Kim Kardashian West, Marc Jacobs and Florence Pugh.
