Fakhar Imam: The government is taking measures to adopt technology for cotton crop development

Syed Fakhar Imam, Minister for National Food Security and Research, said the government is taking measures to bring technology for cotton crop development in the country. On Wednesday, he told a press conference in Islamabad that Prime Minister Imran Khan is concentrating on improving the agriculture sector and is examining changes being implemented in the industry. According to the Minister, a Cotton Price Committee has been constituted to set the cotton price at 5,000 rupees every forty kilos. He stated that the government is putting in place a quality control mechanism to assure the quality of cotton seed. He stated that attempts are on to make Pakistan self-sufficient in edible oil.
