Luxury sportswear and outwear label Moose Knuckles Canada has confirmed the news that they will end all fur production with natural fur by end of the day 2022, as a part of a new range of environmental and social initiatives focused on the long-term sustainability of its global footprint.
The label’s new sustainable strategy is committed to the company’s innovation and leadership across six impact streams such as protecting the environment, creating circular business models, battling climate change, and communities, living and working sustainably and moving products sustainably.
“Our number one objective has always been about creating exceptional, handcrafted products that provide unmatched warmth without sacrificing style,” said in a statement by, Noah Stern, Moose Knuckles Canada co-chief executive.
Moose Knuckles unveils a new global sustainability strategy, this is another major initiative is to make and move towards sustainable products, and also the apparel company stating that it will eliminate conventional cotton, virgin nylon and virgin polyester by the end of 2025.
This process has been started for its autumn/winter collection 2021, re-engineered its fastest-growing new product innovation, Cloud 9, performance built exclusively if recycled and polyester and organic cotton. For its spring/summer 2022 collection its luxury French collection will be engineered with a 50/50 blend of organic cotton and recycled cotton and recycled portion coming out from Moose Knuckles’ factory offcuts. He is also trying to create a circular business process for take-back, re-commerce, and recycling programmes by the end of 2025.
The final pledge to the people and the communities with Moose Knuckles, stating that he will prioritise the global challenges of inclusion and diversity.
Moose Knuckles is also a member of the signatory to the 2025 Sustainable Cotton Challenge, Textile Exchange, a sustainability-focused, non-profit organisation, the 2025 Recycled Polyester Challenge, a participant in the Corporate Fibre and Materials Benchmarking programme of the Textile Exchange and the UN Global Compact pledge.
