Right at this moment, distorted fabric runs through production units all over the world. This problem is difficult to avoid, because fabrics go through different process stages like dyeing, drying and so on. It is, however, easy to solve and possible to continuously produce straight goods – if you know where to start. This is exactly what the experts of Mahlo GmbH will show at the webinar “Your path to straight fabric – There is no excuse for distortions!” on 28 July 2021, 14 am CEST, a joint event with VDMA. For many decades, Mahlo manufactures the equipment that detects and eliminates distortion in textile web. Thanks to these decades of experience combined with steady technological progress, Mahlo has detection systems for almost every application, no matter if mass-produced goods or special processes. Thomas Höpfl, Head of Sales, and Stephan Kehry, Product Manager Textile, will explain in 60 Minutes which application requires which detection system and why.

Among other things, our distortion hunters will present Mahlo’s sensor portfolio, the broadest in the market. Thanks to the choice between optoelectronic, camera-based or hybrid systems and a line-scan camera sensor for pattern recognition, there is a suitable solution for every customer’s product mix. This ensures that all distortions can be detected and corrected reliably, increasing quality and efficiency in the process.

However, the sensors are only part of the story. Depending on the application and textile characteristics, the right mechanics must also be supplied. After all, a heavy carpet requires a different system than the fine tuning of a light fabric. The different types of machines Mahlo has developed for this purpose are also highlighted by Höpfl and Kehry.

Last but not least, the two experts will devote part of the webinar to the software. In addition to the user-friendly interface, one topic is how data knowledge and management can optimize the production process in the age of Industry 4.0.

Participants learn what impact the use of the suitable distortion correction systems has on efficiency and profitability. They are money savers and quality enhancers at the same time.
