At Performance Days (Oct. 4-5, 2023, Munich) Cifra will present prototypes of sports garments made from new yarn compositions.

Sustainability in terms of materials and production process, but also and above all durability, are the foundations on which the design of the new generation of sportswear garments developed by Cifra and made thanks to regenerated and/or bio-based fibers, also MONOMATERIAL (in particular polyamide 6 and 6.6, recycled both pre and post consumer).

In fact, the use of the patented WKS technology makes it possible to produce garments with high mechanical elasticity even in the absence of elastomer: in this way, in addition to ensuring optimal fit and comfort, they are 100% recyclable.

A system that guarantees the performance, comfort and technicality of Cifra’s sports garments, which takes their sustainable value to the next level and anticipates future international regulations on textile recycling that in the coming years will impose a virtuous system to protect the environment and the value chain.

In the field of bio-based fibers, among the most innovative fibers used, SENSIL® ByNature is a nylon 6.6 that uses Biomass Balance (BMB) technology by replacing fossil raw materials with renewable ones. Derived from biogas produced from organic waste, this yarn is a first for the fashion and sportswear industry. Compared to conventional nylon, in this new approach, renewable resources are used as raw material at the very early stages of the production process, reducing 1400 kg of CO2 equivalent per ton of conventional Nylon 66. Every stage of the process is monitored and the entire system is ISCCplus certified.

When it comes to durability, Cifra is conducting extensive independent tests that tend to confirm that Warp technology is functional for more durable garments than Weft technology.

When it comes to sustainability, Cifra underlines that the durability of a garment is perhaps the most important, and most concrete point in terms of commitment, for the coming years.
