Gold Rating, Higher Sustainability Score From EcoVadis Goes To Orion

Orion Engineered Carbons, a multinational specialty chemicals firm, said today that EcoVadis, an unbiased organisation that evaluates corporate performance across a broad spectrum of sustainability topics, has awarded them with a Gold medal rating.

Orion increased its rating from the year before, going from 72 to 77 points, coming very close to earning a Platinum medal grade. The business is now in the 99th percentile of those evaluated by EcoVadis.

According to Orion CEO Corning Painter, “the manner Orion was able to climb five points in one year and achieve the top 1% of firms shows how the many improvements we have done may add up to a major difference.” “We will continue to work towards Platinum because we are so close right now. Voilà EcoVadis assesses a company’s performance in the areas of labour, human rights, ethics, sustainable procurement, and the environment. According to the group, it evaluates more than 100,000 businesses in more than 200 industries and 175 nations.

Orion’s most recent environmental initiatives included equipping its American plants with control systems that significantly lowers emissions. The business uses pyrolysis oils made from used tyres and bio-circular feedstocks to create novel goods. Orion also intends to increase the output of conducive additives based on acetylene for lithium-ion batteries used in electric vehicles.
