YKK to Invest USD 150 Million in New Manufacturing Facility in Tamil Nadu
Third factory in India to be built at Origins by Mahindra, Chennai, with completion targeted for February 2028
YKK Corporation, headquartered in Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo and led by President Koichi Matsushima, has decided to establish a new manufacturing facility in India through YKK India Private Limited. The investment comes as India continues to expand its role as one of the world’s major textile and apparel production hubs.
The new facility will be the third manufacturing factory operated by YKK India Private Limited in the country. It will be developed at Origins by Mahindra, Chennai, located in Tamil Nadu. The plant will operate alongside the company’s two existing factories in Haryana and is intended to support increasing demand from both the domestic market and export-oriented manufacturing sectors.
According to the company, the facility will incorporate YKK’s advanced manufacturing technologies and serve as a modern production center capable of addressing a broad range of customer requirements.
In addition to expanding production capacity, YKK stated that the project will support locally rooted business operations by creating employment opportunities in the region and contributing to the local community. The company also plans to establish a production system designed to respond to diverse customer needs.
