YKK Corporation, headquartered in Tokyo and led by President Koichi Matsushima, has been recognized as a Supplier Engagement Leader by CDP for the third year in a row in its FY2024 Supplier Engagement Assessment. This recognition honors YKK’s leadership in addressing climate change through comprehensive supply chain engagement, governance, and emissions reduction initiatives.

In February 2025, YKK also earned CDP’s top “A” rating in its 2024 Climate Change Survey, marking a second consecutive year of distinction. The company continues to align its sustainability practices with the Science Based Targets (SBT) initiative, aiming for net-zero emissions.

Takayuki Aoki, Vice President of Procurement & Logistics at YKK, stated, “Since introducing the YKK Sustainability Vision 2050, we’ve advanced actions guided by our CYCLE OF GOODNESS® philosophy, focusing on global GHG emissions reduction by collaborating with suppliers. We’re developing low-carbon fastening materials and promoting closed-loop recycling to drive sustainable impact.”

CDP, a global nonprofit advocating environmental disclosure, evaluates companies’ environmental initiatives through surveys sent worldwide—over 24,800 companies disclosed in 2024. Top scorers in supplier engagement are named “Supplier Engagement Leaders.”

YKK’s 2050 sustainability goals span climate, materials, water, chemical management, and human rights. The company's philosophy, rooted in founder Tadao Yoshida’s belief that “no one prospers without rendering benefit to others,” reflects deeply in YKK’s long-standing sustainable practices.
