YKK Collaborates with Coloro to Enable Data-Driven Colour Feasibility for Zippers

YKK Corporation has announced a collaboration with Coloro, a provider of color data and solutions for the global fashion industry, to introduce joint matching and feasibility results for Coloro colors applied to YKK zippers.

Under the partnership, the combined color-matching results are now accessible through Coloro Feasibility Intelligence (CFI), Coloro’s proprietary digital platform. CFI currently contains more than 2.5 million verified feasibility and sustainability data points generated from physical dyeing and testing across multiple substrates. The platform has now been expanded to incorporate YKK zipper color-matching data.

Detlev Pross, Chief Strategy Officer of Coloro, said the collaboration strengthens the link between design and production.
“This collaboration helps bridge another gap between designers and the supply chain, as well as connects physical and digital color selection and application. By integrating YKK zippers into the CFI system, users are empowered to make reliable, data-backed color decisions at the design stage, reducing wasted time and costs on color matching and development in the supply chain.”

Following the development of feasibility and sustainability datasets for the seven most commonly used fibers within CFI, Coloro partnered with YKK to extend the platform’s capabilities to zipper components. The newly launched dataset links available zipper shades with existing fiber and fabric data. Pross added, “It is exciting to launch those data together with YKK allowing us to close the loop on color feasibility and opening another door for digital implementation.”

The updated version of Coloro’s CFI platform, which includes YKK zipper color matches and joint feasibility data, is now available through Coloro and YKK offices worldwide.
