YKK Corporation (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President: Koichi Matsushima) has conducted a groundbreaking ceremony for the Phase 3 expansion of YKK Vietnam Co., Ltd.’s Nhon Trach Factory. The event took place on January 29 and was attended by around 40 participants, including Yoshimine Kobayashi, Executive Vice President and Head of the Manufacturing & Engineering Division of YKK Corporation, Yuji Furukawa, President of YKK Vietnam Co., Ltd., and other related stakeholders.

The expansion project involves the construction of a new manufacturing facility adjacent to the existing Phase 1 and Phase 2 plants in Nhon Trach. With the development of Phase 3, YKK Vietnam aims to increase its production capacity while strengthening its product development functions, reinforcing its role as a key technology base within the ASEAN region.

The new factory is designed to incorporate advanced automation systems to support an efficient production framework. This will enable the facility to supply a wide range of products tailored to varying customer requirements, including those of major international brands.

The project will be developed at Lot 10, N2 Road, Nhon Trach 3 Industrial Park – Phase 2, Long Tho Commune, Nhon Trach District, Dong Nai Province, Vietnam. The total planned investment amounts to USD 83.6 million, covering construction, machinery, and equipment. The land area for the project is 176,701 square meters, with a building area of 110,460 square meters. Completion of construction is scheduled for May 2027.

YKK Vietnam Co., Ltd., established on May 27, 1998, operates manufacturing facilities in Bien Hoa, Nhon Trach, and Dong Van, with offices located in Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Phnom Penh, and Yangon. The company has a capital stock of USD 16.8 million and is engaged in the manufacturing and sales of fastening products.
